Relationship Officer - Financial Institutions Group

Role Statement
The Relationship Officer is to assist in managing and enhancing the relationships with financial institutions, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving the assigned business targets. The role involves handling day-to-day transactions, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring compliance with the bank's policies and procedures.

Principle Responsibilities

Relationship Management:
  • Assist in maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing financial institution clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to address client queries and provide solutions.
  • Assist in promoting and managing cordial relationships with Foreign Correspondent Banks, Local Commercial Banks, Financial Institutions, and facilitate seamless international trade finance transactions.
  • Negotiate lines of credit with Foreign Financial Institutions.

Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of business proposals and presentations for clients.
  • Support the Relationship Manager in achieving the department’s business targets.
  • Assist in growing and optimizing transactions with Correspondent Banks, and advise the FIG head on any events within the correspondent network that might impact the Bank’s business and service delivery.

Client Servicing:
  • Handle client transactions, including account opening, maintenance, and closure.
  • Process client requests such as fund transfers, payment processing, and trade finance.
  • Monitor client accounts to ensure compliance with the bank's policies and procedures.
  • Support in providing advisory services to financial institutions, corporate, and trade finance clients.

Credit Analysis:
  • Assist in the preparation of credit proposals, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
  • Analyze financial statements and assess the creditworthiness of clients.
  • Monitor the performance of credit facilities and report any irregularities to the Relationship Manager.

Risk Management:
  • Ensure that all transactions and interactions with clients comply with the bank's risk management policies.
  • Report any potential risks to the Relationship Manager and assist in mitigating them.

Market Research:
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities in the financial institutions segment.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the Relationship Manager based on research findings.

Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare regular reports on client activities, business development efforts, and market trends.
  • Assist by preparing data and MIS (Management Information System) reports.
  • Prepare notes and proposals as required.

Support to Other Departments:
  • Advise and support other departments in efforts to increase the bank’s profitability.
  • Support the team by implementing services and product offers and solutions to clients with timely MIS for the FIG team.
 Candidate Specifications
  • Bachelor degree holder
  • Bilingual (English & Arabic)
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a bank
