SUMMARY OF ROLE Responsible for acquiring new Islamic SME liability customers, expanding the liability portfolio, and managing existing customer relationships. The role ensures sales targets are met through effective relationship management, promotion of Islamic banking products, and adherence to Sharia-compliant practices.
Identify and acquire new Islamic SME liability customers in line with business objectives and profitability goals.
Conduct prospecting activities through field visits, networking, referrals, and lead conversion.
Promote and sell Islamic liability products including current accounts, Mudarabah accounts, and customized cash management solutions.
Achieve assigned targets related to liability growth, new accounts, and customer onboarding.
Maintain a robust sales pipeline and update progress in CRM or relevant tracking tools.
Relationship Management
Manage a portfolio of existing Islamic SME clients, ensuring relationship continuity and account profitability.
Conduct regular relationship reviews to understand client needs and propose appropriate Sharia-compliant solutions.
Serve as the single point of contact for clients, resolving queries and ensuring service excellence.
Deepen customer relationships through cross-selling of suitable Islamic banking products and services.
Maintain strong personal rapport and trust with SME clients to drive long-term engagement.
Sharia Compliance & Documentation
Ensure that all products offered and transactions conducted are fully compliant with Sharia principles.
Coordinate with the Sharia team to clarify product features and ensure transparency with clients.
Ensure proper documentation and KYC is collected, verified, and maintained in compliance with regulatory and bank standards.
Monitor account activity to ensure ethical usage and alignment with Islamic finance guidelines.
Internal Collaboration & Support
Coordinate with internal departments including product, operations, compliance, and credit to fulfill client requirements.
Work closely with branch teams to support Islamic SME initiatives and align sales efforts.
Provide feedback to the product development team on client needs and potential new Islamic liability solutions.
Assist in preparing customized proposals or presentations for high-value SME prospects.
Market Awareness & Competitor Insights
Stay up to date on market trends, economic conditions, and competitor Islamic offerings.
Provide insights and suggestions to management on areas of opportunity or risk within the Islamic SME segment.
Identify new business segments or industries for potential acquisition and expansion.
Represent Ahli Bank positively in market events, networking sessions, and business community gatherings
Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure all client interactions and account handling follow the bank’s internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Monitor accounts for unusual activity and escalate high-risk or suspicious transactions as per AML guidelines.
Proactively manage delinquent or at-risk accounts in coordination with collections and recovery teams.
Maintain audit-ready records and support all internal/external audit requirements
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Prepare and submit regular reports on portfolio performance, new acquisitions, and client engagement activities.
Track progress against targets and KPIs set by management.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, client interactions, and follow-ups.
Participate in performance review meetings and contribute to business planning
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Certification in Islamic Banking is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of banking experience, with at least 2 years in SME relationship management or Islamic banking. Proven experience in liability sales and portfolio development is required.
