Role Statement
The Fund Transfer Authorizer is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient authorization of all Funds Transfer-related payments, including outward and inward transactions for Corporate, SME, Retail customers, and other departments. The role involves reviewing, verifying, and authorizing domestic payments such as ACH, RTGS, internal, and branch transactions while ensuring compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Additionally, the position plays a key role in risk management, reconciliation, dispute handling, and process improvements to maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Authorization & Processing
- Review and authorize Domestic Payment Transactions (Internal, ACH, RTGS) from all channels (eChannels, Branches/BPM, document-based instructions).
- Ensure transactions are processed without duplication before end-of-day (EOD) closure.
- Verify and authorize exceptional transactions after obtaining proper approvals, logging exceptions for audit and compliance tracking.
- Handle instigations and disputes related to domestic payments, ensuring resolution with accuracy and compliance.
Reconciliation & Operational Control
- Perform daily reconciliation of suspense and corresponding accounts at a transaction-matching level.
- Prepare and submit daily/monthly GL balance proof with supporting documentation.
- Execute transaction reversals or corrective postings based on reconciliation findings.
- Ensure proper control over payment flow GLs to mitigate financial risks.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full adherence to audit requirements, KYC, AML, and regulatory guidelines in transaction authorization.
- Monitor and cross-check transactions for potential fraud, errors, or compliance risks, reporting any concerns immediately.
- Obtain necessary approvals before debiting customer accounts with insufficient funds, ensuring strict compliance with bank policies.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities for improving and automating transaction processes to ensure Straight-Through Processing (STP).
- Draft business requirements for process enhancements and collaborate with IT teams for system upgrades.
- Participate in testing and acceptance of IT system changes related to domestic payments (ACH, RTGS, MPCSS).
Stakeholder Communication & Support
- Respond promptly to internal and external queries, including those from branches, corporate clients, SMEs, and the complaints team.
- Provide daily updates to the Manager – Fund Transfer, ensuring all pending queries/issues are resolved within the business day.
- Handle incoming calls professionally, delivering accurate information and quick resolutions.
- Support other departments and branches by providing expert guidance on domestic payment transactions
Reporting & Documentation
- Compile and submit the monthly payment statistics report with accurate data.
- Maintain transaction logs, compliance records, and audit documentation for transparency and accountability.
- Undertake additional tasks assigned by the line manager, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to operational excellence.
Business Control & Governance:
- Ensure adherence to the bank's policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards in all operational activities.

Candidate Specifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree with major in Banking Services
- Experience: Minimum 5 years-experience in Bank transaction processing
- In-depth understanding of AML/CFT Risk methodology and control analysis
