Role Statement The Head of Corporate & SME Remedial is responsible for overseeing the remedial management function for non-performing loans (NPLs) within the corporate and SME banking segments. This includes developing and implementing strategies to maximize NPL recoveries and minimize losses while adhering to regulatory frameworks and internal policies. The role involves leading a team of professionals to ensure that NPL collections, and remedial processes are executed effectively. Additionally, the position demands active monitoring of operational performance and close collaboration with other business units to maintain a high NPL recoveries (Resolutions).
Key Objectives
Corporate & SME NPL Management
Oversee the management of non-performing loans (NPLs) for Corporate & SME clients referred by Business and Special Assets Management (SAM) teams.
Develop and execute effective remedial action plans to maximize recoveries and minimize financial losses.
Work closely with relationship managers and credit teams to develop workout solutions for distressed accounts.
Loan Delinquency & Loss Management
Implement strategies to reduce defaults, optimize restructuring solutions, and recommend corrective actions for high-risk accounts
Recovery Team Leadership & Execution
Lead and manage the Corp & SME Recovery & Remedial team, ensuring high performance in debt recovery operations.
Assign and monitor case action plans for recoveries, legal actions, settlements, and restructuring.
Provide mentorship and training to the recovery team to enhance skills in negotiation, litigation, and asset recovery.
Adherence to Remedial Processes & Compliance
Ensure all remedial and recovery activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Implement robust governance frameworks to uphold high standards of operational integrity in remedial functions.
Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure litigation and debt recovery align with regulatory frameworks.
MIS Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including recovery rates, resolution timelines, and delinquency ratios.
Provide senior management with data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
Remedial Procedure Development & Process Improvement
Develop, review, and refine remedial policies, collection strategies, and recovery processes.
Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and recovery effectiveness.
Leverage technology and analytics to optimize collection strategies from NPL customers and their resolution mechanisms.
Audit & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure the Remedial Unit is always audit-ready by maintaining accurate documentation, reports, and case files.
Support internal and external audit reviews, regulatory inspections, and risk assessments related to Corporate & SME loan NPL recoveries.
Address any audit observations and implement corrective actions as needed.

Ensure adherence to the bank's policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards in all operational activities.

Person Specifications
Education: degree in Business/ Finance/ Economics etc.
Experience:Total of 10 year of overall experience and 5 years of relevant experience in Corporate & SME Remedial & Recovery
