Role Statement
Data Analyst for the Retail Islamic Business Segment at Ahlibank plays a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making within the Islamic banking domain. This role includes analyzing business performance, developing insightful reports, and MIS. The job holder will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Marketing Teams, and Senior Leaders to ensure that data and analytics effectively support the growth and profitability of Ahlibank's Retail Islamic Business Segment. The job holder expertise in data analysis and reporting will be instrumental in optimizing product performance, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring compliance with Sharia principles. The job holder will need to cater to business all relevant reports to enable them to increase their sales volumes as well as evaluate the campaigns and sales initiatives in terms of profitability and usefulness.

Key Responsibilities
Development of Comprehensive Segment Reporting:
  • Design and develop robust reporting frameworks that accurately reflect and measure the performance of the Retail Islamic Business Segment and staff
  • Create standardized reports and dashboards that provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs), customer trends, product performance, and market positioning.
  • Ensure that reporting tools and processes are scalable and adaptable to the evolving needs of the business segment.

Data Analysis and Insight Generation:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of retail Islamic banking products, services, and customer data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide actionable insights that support product development, marketing strategies, and customer retention efforts.
  • Analyze market and competitor data to inform strategic decision-making and ensure Ahlibank remains competitive in the Islamic banking space.

Support Strategic Planning and Decision-Making:
  • Work closely with senior management, business heads and product teams to provide data-driven recommendations that align with the bank's strategic goals.
  • Develop predictive models and forecasting tools to assist in long-term planning and performance optimization for the Islamic banking segment.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases for new products or initiatives by providing relevant data and insights.

Enhance Data Quality and Reporting Accuracy:
  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of all reporting outputs.
  • Collaborate with Finance, and data governance teams to maintain and improve data integrity across all Islamic banking systems and databases.
  • Continuously refine and update reporting processes to enhance the timeliness and relevance of the reports.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
  • Act as a key point of contact for data and reporting needs within the Retail Islamic Business Segment, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure their requirements are met.
  • Communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding across teams.
  • Support cross-functional projects by providing data analysis and reporting expertise, contributing to the successful implementation of initiatives within the Islamic banking domain.

Regulatory and Sharia Compliance Reporting:
  • Ensure all reports and data analyses adhere to Sharia compliance standards and regulatory requirements specific to Islamic banking.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to provide data and reporting support for audits and regulatory submissions.
  • Stay informed about changes in Islamic finance regulations and adjust reporting practices accordingly to maintain compliance.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing reporting tools and processes, leveraging new technologies and methodologies.
  • Lead initiatives to automate routine reporting tasks, allowing for more efficient and timely data delivery.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and reporting, applying this knowledge to improve the bank's reporting capabilities.

Candidate Specifications
  • Omani National
  • Bachelor Degree
  • 5 years of relevant working experience in a bank
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft Suite
